EXCELLENT Based on 858 reviews Posted on Tripadvisor LINDA VVerified Hacienda in the hills outside Quito I stayed at this hacienda in May 2026, last night before flying home. It was the perfect end to a wonderful holiday in Ecuador. I had a lovely chalet overlooking the valley, and at night had the lights of Quito in the distance. My room had lovely four post bed, seating area, balcony and shower room. On arrival I walked the trail and saw lots of birds, plants, butterflies and views, although some very steep areas so was pleased when I saw other guests to keep me company. The garden area was a delight in the morning, saw lots of hummingbirds and others. The restaurant was in the hacienda styled main building (not sure if original or build as hotel). There was a real fire so nice atmoshere. Food was great and Ecuadorian. Lovely lounge area with pool table. Staff lovely.Posted on Tripadvisor Susan MVerified A delight of the senses Our tour company booked the hotel so we had no idea what to expect. But what a delight to the senses! It was a joy to wander through the main building and notice all of the details of the decor that make it feel warm and cozy. Our room was meticulously clean and had the little touches like a real coffee maker, complementary purified water, a wood-burning stove that the staff would light for us if we asked, and an electric blanket on the bed, which I wish was standard in hotels because I’m always cold. The views took our breath away and the grounds of the hotel are a pleasure to wander through. We walked the well marked trail for more beautiful wilderness. Then we ate in the restaurant and were treated to great cocktails that looked like works of art, excellent quality meals that were also beautifully presented and made with the freshest of ingredients! Everything tasted like it was picked from the garden or pulled from the sea that very day! While I had a massage, my husband took his first ever cooking class with the chef and we enjoyed the ceviche they made together in the kitchen. He even received a certificate after the class. The staff were very responsive to all of our requests & questions. The Hacienda La Jimenita was the perfect place to relax at the end of our 10-day Galapagos vacation!Posted on Tripadvisor Elizabeth FVerified Wonderful stay at a lovely Hacienda family owned for 100 years. We were in transit so only stayed one night at this lovely Hacienda in Parroquia de Pifo to be closer to the Quito airport. But wish we could have stayed longer, the property is lovely with extensive gardens and trails to explore and beautiful views. Our accommodations were very comfortable and spacious and our lunch and dinner meals at the restaurant were delicious. It is family owned and run, and they could not have been more gracious or accommodating.Posted on Tripadvisor Andrew SVerified Great close-to-nature experience. What a hidden gem. As you approach the hotel you could be forgiven for thinking you are going in the wrong direction, it's quite a basic road. However, as soon as you go through the impressive gates you enter what feels like a traditional hacienda. The rooms are enormous, as are the beds (some four posters). There is plenty of space to unpack and unwind. Deceptively, the garden next to the hotel appears small but as you walk through it opens into trails that take you near to the nearby river and valley. You can't miss the hummingbirds. I was lucky enough to see some Vermillion Fly Catchers, plus llamas to boot! It is in the fly path of incoming planes so you will experience some noise from that but this is a mini-escape place all by itself so you shouldn't be put off.Posted on Tripadvisor JoseeVerified A piece of Paradise minutes from the Quito airport After our cruise in the Galapagos, we needed a short stay before returning home. The idea of airport hotel (Wyndham, Holiday Inn) had no appeal to us however we did not feel the need to return to Quito. LA local guide recommended the Hacienda. I was so impressed, I would readily come back to Equador to stay once more at the Hacienda Jimenita. The comfort of the rooms was superbe. Large, beautifully decorated with lots of wood, large showers with plenty of hot water, everything you would expect from a 4 star. Most relevant was the setting, surrounding mountains, flowers, birds and even alpacas. The restaurant offered a most delightful selection of delicious traditional and international food. The resort offers multiple areas for families and friends to reunite as well as wonderfull entertainment areas to watch TV (really?) Pool and table gaming possibilities. Safe trails on the resort allow easy trecking where even an archeological site can be visited with a guide. In other words, it is heavenly.Posted on Tripadvisor Richard MVerified A birding excursion We stayed at this beautiful Hacienda three times over a 12 day period and stayed in three different rooms all of which were excellent and comfortable. If you are a nature lover the grounds of this accommodation are extensive and offer spectacular views over the canyon. Flowers, shrubs trees and birdlife are varied and interesting. Staff were always helpful and food very good, including local Ecuadorian specialties. For people interested in birds, the icing on the top is the connection to Ecuador Bird Tours and a brand new Condor viewing location. A nice place also to connect to and from the GalapagosPosted on Tripadvisor Nancy58_13Verified What a great way to start a vacation! This is hospitality at its finest! Upon arrival at Quito airport, our drivers awaited us and whisked us off to the Hacienda Jimenita for our 2 night stay prior to leaving for the Galapagos. As we were due to arrive after their restaurant closure, we had preordered snacks which awaited us in our rooms. The rooms were beautiful as were the grounds and hiking trails. We were guided down to the archeological pre-inca trail by Karina which was so interesting before enjoying the llamas, trails and multitude of birds! So relaxing. The food was delicious from breakfast to our group dinner that evening. Highly recommend! Beautiful property and wonderful staff!Posted on Tripadvisor Cori RVerified Nice birding Hotel near the airport in Quito with a restaurant on site. This is a great place to start and end your trip from Quito Ecuador especially if you are a birder. The grounds are beautiful and set up to attract all types of birds including hummingbirds. We saw so many species just birding the grounds here. It is a lovely atmosphere just to hang out and enjoy the outdoors. The rooms are very comfortable but there is no electric heat. They will start a wood stove for you and it heats up the room quickly. The mornings may be a little chilly but a birder starts early anyways. The beds have electric blankets so you will get a warm cozy rest. The rooms overlook a valley and have big windows. There is a couch and table and chairs so plenty of space. You wake up hearing the birds. The one drawback is there are some airplanes that fly over in the night since it is somewhat close to the airport but ear plugs solved that problem. The bathroom is spacious and nice. The shower is tricky to find the right temperature but minor inconveniences to be in a birding garden. The restaurant on site is good and the staff very friendly. I would stay here again when flying in and out of Quito. Posted on Tripadvisor Jonathan KVerified Solid choice It's not perfect, but the lovely grounds and beautiful rooms made my three-night stay here very pleasant. Room: Our room was beautiful; spacious with high ceilings, a sofa and a wood burning stove. The bed was large and very comfortable. The shower's water temperature and pressure were good. There was no heat in the room, and we failed miserably in our attempts to build a fire, so mornings were a bit chilly. Location/grounds: Smack in the middle of a nature conservancy, the setting is idyllic, with a great variety of birds (including hummingbirds), a riot of flowers and other vegetation, a couple of miles of nature trails and two llamas who eagerly eat carrots the staff will provide you on request. The common area is inviting, with two fireplaces, comfortable chairs and couches, and a pool table. The hotel is conveniently located only 20 minutes from the airport, but is also directly in its flight path, so that attempts to become one with nature are regularly derailed by the thunderous sound of jets overhead. Staff: We were greeted with a delicious drink and staff were quick to bring our luggage to our room. In general they were polite and helpful when approached, but not that forthcoming. Since we stayed here immediately before and after our Galapagos excursion, it was a real bonus that the staff let us leave behind anything we didn't want to bring with us. Food: The restaurant is pricey, and with the exception of the onion rings, which were unaccountably the best I've ever had, the food was undistinguished. The service was unacceptably slow. Breakfast was included and was quite good. Value: Our stay was included as part of a tour, so I can't speak to the value. Overall, a very nice stay on beautiful grounds if you can overlook a few imperfections.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. EXCELENTE A base de 89 reseñas Publicado en Booking BravoVerificada ExcepcionalPublicado en Booking GVerificada Charming family run hotel located close to the airport ☺ We stayed one night before leaving Ecuador. We wanted somewhere near to the airport but didn't want to stay in a huge hotel. Hacienda Jimenita Wildlife Reserve was perfect. We had two delicious meals (lunch and dinner), lunch outside watching the birds all around us and then dinner inside as it was a bit too chilly to eat out. We walked around the reserve - it was beautiful, calm and relaxed with plenty of birds to see. The staff were all lovely and we would recommend this family run hotel to other travellers. The hotel also arranged for an airport pick up and drop off (at 3.45am!) for us. ☹ One small comment which is a frequent one for many hotels - although the bed was extremely comfortable, the pillows were not great. We take our own pillows when we travel, something I would recommend to others because then it doesn't matter what the pillows are like!Publicado en Booking LisaVerificada The best place to decompress before heading home ☺ The property is an oasis of beauty just minutes from the Quito airport. It is a full service property arranging transportation to and from the airport, a full restaurant, wonderful places to explore and enjoy and a spa providing services by prearranged reservations. We loved the trails, the archaeological cave and the food/bar offerings. Everything was so well cared for! The birds were habituated to feeding stations so they were plentiful and easy to photograph. There is an eclectic mix of very happy flowers, trees and other botanica giving it a kind of Noah’s arc feel with the massive expanse of Quito twinkling from the hills in the distance. ☹ At first the noise from the planes was bothersome but the place is so mellow it faded away after one day.Publicado en Booking ClareVerificada Excellent location, food, surroundings. ☺ Location. The property is very lovely, with lush gardens, beautiful architecture, and a very nice trail along the rim of a spectacular canyon with views of Quito in the distance. We saw many beautiful birds in the garden and along the trail. It's almost hard to believe that the Quito airport is just 15 minutes away. The breakfast that came with the room was excellent, and the other meals we had on the property were are also beautifully prepared and delicious. Service was also outstanding.
EXCELENTE A base de 94 reseñas Publicado en Expedia HarrietVerificada This hotel is a hidden gem in Ecuador. We stayed here for 3 nights after a very busy week in the Galápagos, and it was the perfect end to our trip. The breakfast and dinners were huge portions and always delicious. The staff were incredibly helpful and always available for any questions. You can hike around the grounds to some amazing view points of Quito and the Andes mountains, and the caves are so interesting which you need a visit with a guide, but again they were really lovely and interesting to listen to. The hotel itself is beautiful, full of character and surrounded by amazing birds! A very relaxing retreat which I would highly recommend :) Thank you so much for an incredible stay. ☺Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilitiesPublicado en Expedia AshishVerificada All around great place and amazing experience. Staff were very friendly. Grounds were lovely to walk around. Would recommend staying here ☺Cleanliness, staff & service, amenitiesPublicado en Expedia MonicaVerificada Our first night was a bit rocky — our room was in the Historic area of the hotel, close to the road, and we could hear a neighboring dog barking. The next morning at breakfast, we only saw coffee, toast, cereal, and fruit, so we thought that was all that was available. After we started eating, a staff member arrived and took our order — and we ended up having a delicious hot breakfast. We really enjoyed exploring the beautiful property. It was quiet, peaceful, and full of birdlife, which made for a lovely experience. We noticed a few empty rooms and asked reception if we could move due to the noise, and the staff responded quickly and kindly accommodated our request. The rest of our stay was excellent — we had a wonderful dinner and breakfast the next day. Overall, a relaxing stay in a beautiful setting. We would recommend this property. ☺Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities
EXCELENTE A base de 267 reseñas Publicado en Google Alannah LoriTrustindex verifica que la fuente original de la reseña sea Google. I loved the time I spent there. It's beautiful and the staff is very helpful. I really appreciated that it was so close to the airport, so I did not mind that there was some planes flying over at times. I had a poor experience with the massage I got, it seemed the person who massaged me had no idea what she was doing, so beware of that. Otherwise it was a lovely location with a nice nature walk right from the property. I would recommend it in a heartbeat.Publicado en Google Jessica C Gonzalez RizoTrustindex verifica que la fuente original de la reseña sea Google. A magnificent stay minutes from the airport a perfect introduction to Ecuador. This is not just a hotel, it's a destination for nature lovers. The service started at the airport with a personal pickup (for a reasonable fee) check in is quick and personal. The room had a magnificent view of mountains and forest, with traditional farming also visible adjoining the preserve. There are several walking trails that take you down into the canyon. And pleasant gardens with literally thousands of birds for the less adventurous. The restaurant offers a selection of local food that can be taken indoors or out. We prefered the outdoor seating and enjoyed the constant entertainment of birds frequenting the feeders close by. The hummingbirds are especially close and apparently unafraid. The staff here are particularly helpful and knowledgeable. There's a historic tunnel discovered on the grounds which was hand dug by an earlier civilization, which I was able to visit simply by asking at reception. There's always a negative, and in this case it's the proximity to the airport. This results in aircraft passing directly overhead often. I didn't find it disruptive but some people might. Night time was very quiet. The rooms are large and comfortable, but don't expect Wyndham or Marriott standard. They do however have everything you need. The bathroom is clean and there's plenty of hot water and clean towels.Publicado en Google Beth SaavedraTrustindex verifica que la fuente original de la reseña sea Google. We made a day visit to walk the trails and birdwatch and I'm glad we did! Reservations are requested for the restaurant but we didn't know and just showed up at 10:30am. They were very accommodating and invited us to enjoy the grounds until lunchtime. I added several new birds to my life list on Merlin and we enjoyed the sweeping views of the canyon from the groomed trail. It's not a long circuit but it's lovely. Lunch was great: we had an eggplant garbanzos dish and burger and fries.
